Two days tour to Argolis (Epidaurus-Mycenae)
This tour is available from April 4th until October 31st 2011, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Departs at 8:00 AM (first day) - returns at 6:30 PM (2nd day)

1st day: We depart from our terminal, and pass by the OLYMPIC STADIUM to see the Athens 2004 Olympics main venue. We continue to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive on to MYCENAE, the famous Homeric city of the Atreides - the city "rich in gold" of the ancient poets. In Mycenae visit the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Tomb of King Agamemnon (optional stop for souvenirs). Depart through the fertile plain of ARGOLIS for NAUPLIA (Nafplion), which is a picturesque town that was the first capital of modern Greece. Afternoon free for a visit to the Venetian fortress of PALAMIDI crowning the city, or to the fortified islet of Bourtzi, or alternatively for going swimming. Also you can have an optional visit to the NATIONAL GALLERY - NAFPLION ANNEX. The Annex of the National Gallery in Nafplion is housed in a historical building and has a permanent collection comprising works inspired from the Greek War of independence. Enjoy dinner and stay Overnight stay in Nafplion.

2nd day: Morning free for a walk to the old city with its neoclassic houses and picturesque streets. Furthermore you can visit the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation and "V. Papantoniou" Museum, which was founded in 1974 and received in 1981 the European Museum of the year Award. The 1st and 2nd floor now houses the new permanent exhibition "Urban Greece" mainly referring to the town of Nafplion and its surrounding area during the 19th and 20th centuries. Around noon leave for EPIDAURUS to visit the Ancient Theater (4th century B.C.) famous for its astonishing acoustics. In the afternoon return to Athens.
